In the homestretch?
Oct. 14th, 2007 09:24 pmI went to ACAD today for three hours and I don't feel I accomplished much at all. I was just beat by the time I left at 3:30 and I was yawning so hard on the bus that tears were running down my cheeks. Ugh!
At first I was the only person in the room, then a few of my classmates and other students filtered in. I realized why class was so exhausting - it's the three hours of constant noise from people talking, hammering, sawing, fans blowing, sanders buzzing, etc.
I thought making the paper prototype would help me figure out how to make my pendant, but instead I ended up writing a long list of steps I had to do to make sure everything was done right. I finished three out of the four rivets. Man, the nailhead rivet was hard, it kept bending. It's a wee thing too, just over a quarter inch, maybe...I lost it several times. I beat the back of it into submission and grumbled over the hammer marks afterwards. I tried soldering on my own but I didn't succeed. The bit of solder was so small I couldn't see it and it seemed to disappear when I tried to heat it :-D
