Given world events, it's just a little hard to be creative and make art right now, but I recently discovered Sennelier pastels. They are the Rolls Royce of pastels. Super expensive--and they even SMELL expensive--they run along paper like butter. I've been testing them out on different paper to see which works best.

I've always found oil pastels frustrating because they never seemed to blend well. Clearly, oil pastels are one of those art supplies where you'll get better results with the pricey supplies.

This little landscape was also a test for my new LED light tent. I've always had trouble photographing pieces, especially in winter, and I found one on sale at a local store with free delivery. Why I didn't buy one of these sooner I have no idea! It came with four background shades and folds up for easy storage!

I was unstoppable this morning and made three new ACEOs for the ACEO Challenge! They are also for sale on Etsy, from $5-10 plus shipping. They can also be made as prints upon request.

I really have been in a bit of an art slump, but perhaps it's over now...I really hope!

This is my first time entering the ACEO Challenge! Usually I always miss these deadlines, but I squeaked in with a wintry caribou. Voting ends December 17th; please check out all the lovely ACEOs and vote for your favourite!

The caribou is snipped from semi-gloss heavyweight paper and glued to a card that has been painted with watercolours and acrylic.

My latest ACEO/ATC is for sale on Etsy. I doodled the horse on the day that someone forgot to schedule a nude model!
