That's a wrap!
May. 6th, 2006 12:03 pmSo ends another chapter in my quest for a BFA. Or, at least, to finish first year :-D
I got up early this morning and packed away my paints and cleaned off the kitchen table. I made sure I had my sketches and counted all my panels twice. The college was eerily quiet - I think we were the only class there. The walls were empty, except for the grad show. Such is the quiet end of the semester.
Alison had us spread out panels out in order on our desks. We went through each one as a group. It was nerve-wracking! Most people had one problem consistently wrong - for me, it was the sign. Too often the sign popped out instead of muting into the background.
Most projects were pretty good. There were two people who seemed lost on the concept of what they should have been doing, especially one person who had almost no mixed colours. Then Alison sent us away until 10:20. I wandered the halls with a couple of my classmates, people who I hadn't really spoken too the whole semester. Actually, now that I think about it, there were a few people missing that should have been there. This project was worth 20% of our final mark and to fail it would be really failing!
I held my breath as I gathered up my panels. I was too scared to open the folded piece of paper she left behind. But when I did, I exhaled with much relief! I got a B+ on the final project and a B+ as an overall grade! Can't beat that :-) I thanked Alison for a good class and wished everyone a good summer. Then my husband came and picked me up and that was that. That was that.
Next up is a Thursday night life drawing class (one of my old classmates signed up for it and she'll give me a ride home). Then Art History 120, which starts at the end of June. Then that's that for 2006!
